Michael Hawkes holds an MSc in Forestry and its relation to Land Use from Oxford University and is a chartered professional forester. He has been working on international development assistance projects at a mostly senior level since 1982. He is currently on his 5th assessment at Chief Technical Advisor / Director level.
Social-economist
Joyce Msigwa holds a Master of Arts in Demography and a Bachelor of Arts in Socialogy from the university of Dar es Salaam. She has served as chairperson of the Women Digital Microfinance Group from 2015 to date. She has held several research positions with commercial enterprises and acted as independent research consulant for international and national organizations. She has strong experience in promoting micro and small enterprises. Currently she serves as social-economist for PFP 2 where she ensures that the programme is consistently human rights progressive and gender sensitive.
Market Systems Development Specialist
Eliya Elias Mtupile is the Market Systems Development Specialist for PFP 2. He is responsible for supporting forestry value chains in the Southern Highlands. Prior to this role, he has managed several other projects in Tannzania to successful closure. He was the head of Tanzania Local Enterprises Development (T-LED) project funded by Global Affairs Canada and managed the Improving Market Access for the poor (IMA4P) project funded by Accenture. Prior to that role, he was head of forestry department at Tanzania Leaf Tobacco Company, a subsidiary of the Universal Leaf Tobacco inc. Before then, he worked as Forestry Carbon Certifications Associate for Green Resources where he was responsible for designing and implementation of the Climate Community and Biodiversity Alliance (CCBA) as well as Verified Carbon Standards (VCS) projects for Tanzania, and a supporting staff for Mozambique and Uganda.
