As Tree Growers’ Associations (TGA) members, smallholder tree growers will play a significant role in the expansion of plantations and timber production. The support from the Programme is given  as support to tree growing (Tree Growing Incentive Scheme, or TGIS).The TGIS participants are arranged into Tree Growers’ Associations. When applying for TGIS support, the farmers are simultaneously encouraged to join the local TGA.
